about me

who am i?

I am a human person. My pronouns are she/her or they/them. I am south asian. I enjoy cooking, art, music, playing guitar, reading, taking walks, and running, among other things. I’m also autistic, trans, queer, and lesbian.

what is this blog about?

This is a space for me to express myself through the act of writing.

the act of writing

Writing is auto-vicarious. It is a way for me to enter a meditative space where can observe my own thoughts, frame it, process it, and play with it. I am sometimes able to access parts of myself in writing that is not possible in any other medium.

The process of writing is more important to me than the actual written output. That said, I have often found a desire to share some of my writings with others, so this is one way of doing that. Some posts will be about my life experiences and observations, some creative writing, poetry, book-reviews, and rants.

why the name klicklacken?

Klicklacken is not my real name. It is an onomatopoeia of the sounds that I hear when I’m typing these posts on my computer keyboard.

I am using a pseudonym because I want my writing to speak for itself. This pseudonymity also acts as a sort of mask, a way for me to bring my mind into a place where I can observe my own being from the outside, giving me perspectives that are hard to access when I am my flesh-self.

Additionally, I think giving myself this distance will allow me to avoid getting too precious with my writing, and to get more comfortable with sharing things that are imperfect, unfinished, or scattered.

why do you have “self-link” at the top of your posts?

I follow the practice of POSSE. Here is a copy-paste:

POSSE is an abbreviation for Publish (on your) Own Site, Syndicate Elsewhere, the practice of posting content on your own site first, then publishing copies or sharing links to third parties (like social media silos) with original post links to provide viewers a path to directly interacting with your content.

While it seems redundant to relink to a post within the post itself, I find it an important element of how I publish. When I make a new post, I first post here. Then I copy paste the whole body into other platforms (e.g., substack).

Social media platforms can die. By keeping my posts on my own website, my writing isn’t at the mercy of corporate content moderation, unpredictable platform changes, or other misdeeds. If a third-party platform disappears tomorrow, my readers will still have links that they can use to get to my writing.

I will still post on other platforms becuase that’s where all the people seemingly are. But my website also has an RSS link if you want to subscribe using that.

Having my work existing on the plain-old web, as opposed to specific platforms (often hidden behind signup pages), makes it easier to archive my work. Living in a time (2026) where history and trans people are being erased from existence everywhere, I refuse to make it easy to be erased.

how do i contact you?

I do not wish to be contacted at this time. If I change my mind, I will update this section.
